NTHGA Meeting Minutes  7:35 PM  3/9/2000;    10 and kids present.
Minutes were read and accepted as published in the newsletter

OLD BUSINESS:
1.  Regional competition discussion:  Greg in discussion with Kent and HHGA found that the competition does not HAVE to be sanctioned.  It is important primarily for comp points in national pilot rank standing.    There was discussion on the suggestion of having a 3 day regional competition (Friday would be an active comp day) verses the traditional two day weekend meet with Friday as the practice day.  Put up for vote:  Tally:  2 day meet (not class B sanctioned) = 7 :  3 day (not class B sanctioned)  = 0 :    Class B sanctioned meet 3 day = 2.
2.  Regional Comp Jobs /Volunteers so far:  Meet Head/ scoring -Kent Robinson;  Publicity - Ray Helman;        Pilot Info Packages - Kelly Russell.    John Russell will be out of town and will not be able to do the barbecue as originally planned.
OPEN JOBS - People needed:    Safety Director,  Barbecue Director,  Drivers,  General assistants.  PLEASE consider volunteering your time - even one day would be helpful.    Call Kent or Greg Chastain.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Warren showed the new USHGA chapter designation and insurance papers.  Anyone needing site insurance - come to the club meeting and discuss it.

  1. Kelly Russell's Birthday !  Happy Birthday and many soaring years to come.

  1. NTHGA Annual Parachute Clinic - March 11th at Story Elementary - Allen TX . Contact Dave Broyles.    Dave is also starting service at Catto Mills Airport:  See him for rules.

  1. Board of Director's meeting March 17-19.  Contact Kent with your concerns.

  1. AWARDS:

  1. Annual NTHGA Cross Country Award for 1999:  Pete Hammer  - 32 miles.

  1. Most Improved Pilot / Best Aluminum Sculpture; Kelly Russell.

  1. Most Improved Pilot:  Ken Tolin.

  1. Best Flight / TOP GUN Award:  Greg Chastain.

  1. Phoenix Award/ Back from the Dead:  Curtis Grayzyk.

  1. Above and Beyond Award / Newsletter:  Warren Puckett

  1. L/D Contest Awards given out from last month.

  1. Other awards are waiting for the members to come to the meeting.


  1. Flying Trips planned:

  1. Dry Canyon:  May 27th

  1. Regionals:  Hearne  June 16-18

  1. Buffalo Mtn.:  July 4th


7.  Meeting Dismissed at  8:50 PM    Film on EAA Flight Adventure for entertainment.
