NTHGA meeting minutes  9/14/2000

Meeting comes to order  at 7:30 pm
14 present

Treasurer report  $ 1110.00  after payments made.

Minutes read and accepted.

Old Business

  1. Pilot point lease is paid.   New pilots that want to fly there give Dwayne, Brad , Cliff  a call.
2.    South tow site is good to go

New Business:

  1. USHGA award nominations due now.   Discussion about people and clubs.   Nominations for special people would be Grandma Corine Albright at Magazine Mt. In Arkansas.   Newsletter - NTHGA,
  1. Phil Bachman has resigned as Executive Director of USHGA.
  1. Andy Austin (old NTHGA member ) moved to Michigan and got Warren Dunes opened up to paragliders.   Dave will nominate him for the efforts on opening flying sites for a commendation.
  1. Discussion on registering domain for NTHGA.   We agreed to do it but need more details.   Computer folks will get details.   We will go big time before time.
  1. Flying at Alamogordo:    Pete, Greg,  John , Charles , Sculley went.  Greg got XC champ for 4th consecutive year - 64 miles.  High pressure dominated and slightly less soaring conditions.   Speed gliding became in vogue- Pete won with 7 minutes over a 6 mile course.
  1. Dave Broyles went to two meets:  Aspen paragliders,   Jackson Hole - hang gliders;  both had high pressure and no rounds completed due to lack of soaring conditions.
  1. Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.
